Privacy Policy
How your information is handled when you visit or get in touch.
01 — Who is responsible?
Renaud Cormier, based in the United Kingdom and presenting his work as Chef Renaud, is the controller responsible for personal information collected through this website.
For privacy questions and requests, contact contact@renaudcormier.com.
02 — Information collected
The enquiry form collects your name, email address, destination, number of guests, preferred setting and message. You may also provide stay dates, flexible-date preferences and a request for a service team. Required fields are marked on the form; without them, I may not be able to respond to your request.
Please do not include medical details, allergy information or other sensitive personal information in this initial form.
Hosting, email and form providers also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information and request times for delivery, security and abuse prevention.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 measures page visits, scrolling and outgoing link clicks, alongside browser and device information, referral sources and approximate location. Names, email addresses and the contents of your enquiry are not intentionally sent to Analytics.
03 — Purposes & legal bases
- Responding to a requested quotation or discussing a possible engagement: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Handling other correspondence and operating a secure website: legitimate interests in managing enquiries and preventing misuse.
- Measuring website use through Google Analytics: your consent.
- Retaining information where required by applicable law: compliance with legal obligations.
Enquiries are not used to subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. No automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects is used.
04 — Who receives information?
- Hostinger International Ltd.: website and email hosting. Website hosting is in Frankfurt, Germany, with hosting backups in France. These locations do not describe every location used by its email or support services. See Hostinger’s privacy policy.
- Formspree: processing and delivery of form submissions. See Formspree’s privacy policy.
- Google: enquiries received through Hostinger email are forwarded to Gmail. Google also provides Analytics when you consent. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Pixelfrit: access to Analytics reports to help manage website performance, without access to enquiry messages.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. I do not sell your personal information.
05 — International processing
Providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. The website server and hosting backups are in the European Economic Area. Formspree states that its service is hosted in the United States and that it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses as a processor. See Formspree’s security information.
Google operates internationally and describes its use of adequacy mechanisms, including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and contractual clauses in its data transfer information. Hostinger’s processing arrangements are described in its Data Processing Agreement.
Contact contact@renaudcormier.com for information about the transfer arrangements applicable to your information or to request relevant safeguards.
06 — Retention
- Enquiries that do not result in a booking: email correspondence is kept for up to 12 months after the last meaningful exchange, including copies in Hostinger email and Gmail.
- Formspree submissions: copies are kept for up to 6 months after submission.
- Analytics: the retention period for user-level and event-level data is 2 months. This setting does not apply to standard aggregated reports.
- Consent choice: stored in your browser for 180 days, after which you are asked again.
- Technical logs and backups: retained according to provider security and backup cycles, for operating the service, investigating incidents and meeting applicable obligations.
Information needed for an agreed engagement, legal obligations or a dispute may be kept longer where necessary. Relevant retention information will be provided when an engagement is arranged.
07 — Cookies & your choices
Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose Accept analytics. If you reject analytics or have not made a choice, this website’s Analytics integration remains blocked. Advertising storage and advertising personalisation are disabled in this integration.
- cr-cookie-choice-v1: local storage on your device, used to remember acceptance or rejection for 180 days. This is preference storage, not an analytics cookie.
- _ga and _ga_JQGFX507JT: first-party Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. The integration sets an expiry of 180 days; visits with consent may renew that expiry.
Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the banner and change your choice. Rejecting after accepting disables this integration, removes its accessible Analytics cookies and reloads the page. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of your consent.
Clearing browser storage or using another device or browser may cause the banner to appear again. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from sending an enquiry.
08 — Your rights
Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction or portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time.
Send requests or complaints to contact@renaudcormier.com. I may ask for information needed to verify your identity. Requests are normally handled within one month, subject to any lawful extension.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
09 — Updates
This policy may change when the website, services or data practices change. The date below identifies this version.
